1880 Federal Census:  Clay Co., TN with Notes

Transcribed by Dayton Birdwell.

This is a transcription of the first census done for Clay County after it formation in 1870. The County was formed from the northern portions of Overton and Jackson County, TN and therefore is comprised of some of the oldest families in Tennessee. This book contains over 200 pages of not only the census itself but also added genealogical data from the note pads of Dayton Birdwell, Shelta Shrum and Mary Clark Pryor, in the form of footnotes. A tremendous work that deserves and has a full name index. This is a great book and a must have for anyone doing research in the Middle Tennessee Area. Price is $7.00
