by Shelta R. McCarter Shrum and Betty C. Meadows Scott
A continuation from V. 1 this book also chronicles the history of the area through the printed words of those that lived it. A common practice of editors and publishers was to borrow articles of interest from neighboring county papers to be published locally, making these papers a good source of information for other counties. Articles found in the Sumner papers were borrowed from counties such as Jackson, Smith, Macon, Trousdale and Wilson in Tennessee and Allen, Simpson, Warren and Barren in Kentucky. Some of these articles were not found anywhere else meaning the paper that it was originally published in did not survive long enough to be microfilmed. Containing almost 200 pages including the full name index this book sells for $20.75. TN sales tax and shipping and handling applies.
